Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. 13 shooting. One of my favourite experiences through the duration of the camp was getting to fi re off a round from a 458 Win Mag. We were fed well, and it was an enjoyable experience with some great people and I made some new friends from it too. Dad has always taught me that every sport I have been involved in has been run by volunteers, so it is important to contribute however you can. We always help pack away the traps after a shoot. I have been lucky enough to attend many SSAA NSW events around the state and volunteer my time helping out on SSAA NSW booths. HuntFest is one of my favourites – the people are always friendly and ask about how to get their gun licence and where the ranges are. My pride and joy is a rifl e I received a couple of years ago, a Savage Trophy Hunter chambered in .243 with a left-handed bolt confi guration. I have shot foxes, hares, rabbits, pigs and goats with it and hope to add deer to the list soon. Dad has been teaching me to reload for it, working with different loads to fi nd the best accuracy, learning what load each of our guns like and which projectiles are best suited to our hunting styles and animal species. Going away on a hunting trip is one of my favourite things to do. Camping out under the stars, sitting around a camp fi re and exploring a new hunting area. We often see animals we don't see at home, wombats, brumbies and the occasional wild dog, lots of deer sign but I am yet to shoot one. One day I will get lucky. I have made lots of friends through shooting, the old guys are always willing to help you out and teach you how to improve your shooting.
