Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. 15 The SSAA NSW Batemans Bay Branch recently held a Try Shooting Day that was a roaring success. More than 50 shooters took part in a variety of disciplines which included Benchrest, Metallic Silhouette, Air Rifle, Clay Target Shotgun Shooting and Pistol. About 85% of attendees were unlicensed shooters, many trying their hand at shooting for the first time and being introduced to the sport by their fellow licenced family members and friends. But it wasn't all locals either. Many had travelled some distance just to take part which just goes to show that those with the passion and desire are prepared to do what is necessary to participate in this fun all-inclusive sport. There was certainly plenty of natural ability on show across all the disciplines. As a result of such a fun and eventful day most visitors wanted to learn more about how to join, how to get their licence and how do they go about shooting on a regular basis. A huge thank you to the Branch volunteers that made the event such a success. So much so that the committee of the Batemans Bay Branch has decided to make this an annual event. An additional thank you to SSAA NSW for providing the promotional material that was handed out also.
