14 Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. SSAA NSW Annual General Meeting SSAA NSW recently held it's AGM ensuring the good management of your Association. Our President Lance Miller outlined his vision for SSAA NSW and focussed on the theme "A year of change – a future of growth". Achievements for 2018 were discussed as well as key challenges highlighted. Every challenge equals opportunity which is why, a new strategic plan has been developed and shared with delegates. The new strategic plan sees the organisation strengthen its focus on Members and Branches, placing them at the heart of every decision of SSAA NSW, making Members proud to be SSAA. This has also triggered a wholesale review of systems and processes utilised to interact with Members and Branches to better deliver services. A strategic goal of SSAA NSW is to be an outward and future focussed Association that places Members at its core and builds strategic partnerships with external stakeholders for the benefit of all law abiding firearm owners. The range development program was outlined including the significant progress of the Forbes range upgrade as well as plans to deliver a world class shooting complex at Dubbo. Future proofing our sport is extremely important with delegates taking the time over the weekend to engage with the Board and staff about how to improve local ranges and strategically building new ones. Our CEO Jai Rowell touched on the many positive programs being undertaken and thanked delegates for the successful Branch and range visits across NSW that has occurred. Delivery of services / infrastructure as well as effectively using our powerful voice is best achieved when we all work together. The AGM provided exactly that opportunity. Results from the extensive market research were highlighted which has driven reform and organisational success. Thank you to everyone who participated helping to shape SSAA NSW! This year there were five positions on the Board to fill including Senior Vice President (SVP), Junior Vice President (JVP) and three ordinary Board positions. Rob Austin was elected SVP, Ben Smith elected JVP and three directors were elected to ordinary Board positions in Tim Barry (Southern Highlands), Danae Jenkins (Newcastle) and Garrett Robinson (Boorowa). We congratulate our newly elected members to the Board and thank all those who nominated.
