SSAA NSW Forbes Range
Major progress from hard work
As reported in the July edition of this magazine we
have been hard at work getting the new and improved
SSAA Forbes range ready for use.
Major earthworks and construction on both the
existing 100m and new 200m range sections took
just 10 weeks to be completed shifting an incredible
amount of dirt that forms the full perimeter of both
ranges. Recently, the Firearms Registry inspected the
new and existing range and the Forbes Branch looks
forward to the official opening soon.
The range will be able to cater for a wide variety
of centrefire rifle calibres, with limitation based on
retained energy and not bore size. This will ensure
that the target shooting complex will be capable of
hosting an increased variety of competitions and
events for members and visitors.
Both SSAA NSW and the Forbes Branch have
worked hard on the upgrade and the end result is
well worth the effort. As they say, a picture is worth a
thousand words.
