8 Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. SSAA NSW Albury Branch Inc. the grounds. While 5-Stand Sporting will be the dominant feature on the shoot calendar, Skeet (both American & ISSF), DTL and Ball Trap will continue to be shot on the grounds, providing ample opportunities for all shooters. Being a SSAA Branch has opened the gates to enable shooters of all shotgun disciplines from Field and Game Australia, Australian Clay Target Association and Sporting Clays Association of Australia to all train, practice and compete. NEWS HOT OFF THE PRESS SSAA NSW Albury Branch has been granted the SSAA 5-Stand State Titles for 2020. We are all so very excited to be holding this event. Stay tuned for the dates and further details. What do we provide? Our head coach and long-term Committee member, Graeme Boyd, is a National and International Accredited Shooting Coach in shotgun disciplines. He is available for coaching sessions that cater to all levels of shooters, from those having their first tentative shots out of a shotgun; to those aiming for international glory. Graeme is also available for Corporate Days, Bucks, Hens Parties and groups wishing to add a little clay target shooting to their special day. Non-powered sites are available for caravans and tents if you wish to stay overnight or for a week. Shower/toilet facilities catering for both men and women are located on site. History SSAA (NSW) Albury Branch was formally the Albury Wodonga Clay Target Club (AWCTC) and was affiliated with the Australian Clay Target Association (ACTA). AWCTC leased a portion of land on Winchester Lane, Ettamogah NSW for the Club in the late 70s and would not be in its current position without the sterling efforts of many members over the years. The facilities for the clay target shooter, created by those early members, stand out as the best in the area with four Trap layouts, four Skeet layouts and two Ball Trap layouts. The process to form SSAA NSW's latest Branch, Albury (N54), started on Tuesday 16 th April 2019. On this day, an excess of two thirds of the Members of the AWCTC voted at a Special General Meeting to form a SSAA Branch and adopt the SSAA Constitution. The decision was not taken lightly, but the members saw this as opportunity for growth that had eluded the Club for some years. The change of direction to become a SSAA Branch has already provided the impetus to expand. We now have four 5-Stand layouts to cater for increased shooter numbers. Since the rebirth as a SSAA Branch, our membership has more than doubled in less than three months. At the time of preparing this article there are currently 167 members of the Branch. Present day Sporting Clays, in its various guises, has without doubt seen the most rapid growth of any of the shotgun sports since its inception into this country. The expansion of 5-Stand to cater for four full layouts will provide the opportunity for larger fields and more prestigious events to be held on
