The Board is an advisory body appointed under the Game and Feral
Animal Control Act 2002 that provides independent advice to the
Minister for Agriculture and Western NSW and the Department of
Primary Industries on important matters relating to hunting and game
and pest animal management in NSW.
The inaugural Board was active between 2014 and 2019, with
several research and stakeholder forum reports available to read on
the DPI website.
A new Board has been appointed by the Minister through to 2025,
with a mix of incumbent and new members. Board members possess
a broad range of expertise from wildlife, pest and sustainable land
management, through to project management and policy formation.
One of the latest additions to the new board members is Jai Rowell,
CEO of SSAA NSW. Jai also serves on the National Board of the
SSAA and has a keen interest in conservation and wildlife projects.
He holds extensive expertise in policy formulation across all levels of
Government, having served as a Member of Parliament in NSW.
