Why did SSAA Gilgandra branch hold this match?
75 years ago, on 14 August, the Japanese surrendered and the following day, 15
August, was Victory Pacific Day and World War II was declared to be finally over.
We ran this match to commemorate and honour all those service men and women
who defended this nation and served the British Commonwealth on land, sea and
air in all wars.
