2013 AGM Re-Cap... SSAA National Junior Challenge This year the SSAA National Junior Challenge will be hosted by SSAA ACT from 5th to 7th July at the Majura Range. This event enables juniors from across Australia to come together to participate in rimfire Rifle Silhouette, 3P and Field Rifle events. The three core events are contested in 2 age groups; under 15 years; and 15 years and under 18 years. The notice of the event and nomination form can be found on the SSAA National website under junior competition. I'm pleased to advise that juniors who attend the event and compete for NSW will be eligible to apply for the SSAA NSW Junior Subsidy. The subsidy is claimed after participation and provides a reimbursement of up to $250 for travel, accommodation, nomination and ammunition expenses. Application forms can be obtained from your SSAA NSW Branch, NSW Discipline Chairman or by contacting the SSAA NSW Office. SSAA NSW AGM The SSAA NSW AGM was held on the first weekend in May and there were quite a few delegates in attendance and representing various SSAA NSW Branches; as you can see from the photo on the front cover, 'Team SSAA NSW' was out in full force and the meeting was hailed a success by many who attended. As well as being updated on the activities of SSAA NSW over the past 12 months, delegates were provided with information on the development of the new SSAA NSW range in Armidale; the plans for future range acquisition, development and protection; how to seek out and apply for grants to assist their Branch in sourcing additional funding for projects; how the new Workplace Health & Safety laws affect Branches and an update on what's happening on the political front from the Shooters & Fishers Party. Revised Constitutions The revised SSAA NSW State and Branch Constitutions were adopted and endorsed, respectively, at the AGM. As members are aware, this has been a significant project that has taken quite a lot of time and effort on the part of a number of people who took the 2 time to provide their input and comments during the development stages. Following discussion, it was pleasing to see the Constitutions adopted with minor amendments. The final version of the Standard Branch Constitution will be available to members on the SSAA NSW website. Life Membership for President Paul McNabb The delegates voted to award current NSW President Paul McNabb life membership of SSAA NSW in recognition of his dedication and effort during the past 4 years. Paul has been instrumental in building NSW into the premier SSAA State and played a big part, along with the Board, staff and our many volunteers in achieving a number of significant successes during his time as President.
