22 SSAA Sydney Branch has recently announced the appointment of Adam Ryan as Branch President. Adam Ryan has been a long serving committee member and has been the Sydney Branch Treasurer since 2016. Adam is excited to take on the role as President and committed to furthering the successes of Sydney Branch: "I first joined SSAA in 1994 and became a Range Officer at Anzac Range, Malabar. I let my Membership lapse a couple of years later. I then rejoined in May 1998 and have remained a member ever since, with a few years as a member of Southern Highlands branch, the rest of my time as a Sydney branch member. "I became active in the branch in late 2015 answering a call for Range Officers at Anzac Range again. At the 2016 branch AGM I was elected as a committee member under then President James Walsh. In 2017 I became the Treasurer of Sydney branch and continued in that position until becoming President in September 2021. "I first developed an interest in firearms and shooting during my high school years after joining my schools cadet unit. Post high school I joined the army reserve and spent 8 years in an Engineer unit. During my time in the Reserves I was selected to be part of the small arms replacement team. This role involved introducing the new Austeyr F88 to Army Reserve units and training soldiers in the use and safe handling of the rifle. Outside of the army much of my early shooting experience centred around feral pest control on farms, with regular trips to Anzac Range to hone my skills. Sydney Branch welcomes new President Outside of the army much of my early shooting experience centred around feral pest control on farms.
