Try Shooters safety breifing
SSAA NSW Narrabri Try Shooting Day, where our
highly trained range officers were ready to show
participants how to handle a firearm and enjoy the
sport, safely. Participants learnt to shoot with a .22
calibre scoped, bolt-action rifle at various targets,
within their chosen two-hour session.
Sold out, yes, we did!
Our Try Shooting sessions are designed for
beginners but can cater to participants of all skill
levels, with the aim to ensure you learn to shoot in
a safe, fun, and friendly environment. Previous
experience is not required.
We had 40 attendees for the Try Shoot. The joy
and excitement was clear on everyone's faces.
Two sessions were held for 2 hours each.
Session 1: 11 am-1 pm
Session 2: 2 pm-4 pm
After being welcomed by their Range Officer,
each participant started learning how to use the
scope and customise it to fit their eyesight.
They were shown both how to load a magazine
and attach it to the rifle as well as how to take
the magazine out once it is empty and reload it.
Additionally, Try Shooters learned how to utilise
the rifle's bolt and how to reload after firing a
shot at the paper target.
