SSAA NSW Coffs Harbour Branch Profile In 1979, after making several trips to the SSAA NSW Casino Branch to compete in Benchrest Matches, Coffs Harbour shooter John Radford approached the Coffs Harbour Rifle Club with the idea to host a trial shoot at the new Dairyville Range. For more information about SSAA NSW Coffs Harbour Branch or to find out what is being shot at the Dairyville Range you can check out the Branch website – www.ssaacoffsharbour.org.au The first shoot took place in March 1980 with more than 50 competitors taking part. The event was taken out by Mrs Coral Garrett ahead of John's wife Joan Radford in second place. The ladies had cleaned up and dented more than a few egos! And two weeks later the same ladies did it again with Joan besting Coral. These Coffs Harbour ladies could really shoot! In the early 1980s the Club, seeking support against the anti-gun movement, made the decision to join with the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia and SSAA (NSW) Coffs Harbour Branch Inc was formed. Since the early days, there has been a significant amount of work conducted at the Dairyville Range, the great deal of it by a core group of committed members. Beginning with only three benches, the Dairyville Range now has 15 that are regularly in use. The Branch also host the annual Bananacoast Centrefire Championship event that has become a mainstay on the events calendar for shooters from around New South Wales and interstate. Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. TRY SHOOTING IN COFFS HARBOUR SSAA NSW Coffs Harbour Branch will shortly commence their Try Shooting program.
