Ms Melham said that SSAA NSW has worked together with National Parks and Wildlife Service in the development of the Program to ensure its managed towards a successful outcome and both SSAA NSW and National Parks and Wildlife Service will be contributors to the independent evaluation of the trial. Details on how the three year trial will operate are still being finalised, however people interested in taking part should visit the SSAA NSW website at www.ssaansw.org.au and click on the NPWS Pest Control link. How can I be involved? Details on how the Supplementary Pest Control Program (SPC) will operate are currently being finalised, however you can register your interest on the SSAA NSW website www.ssaansw.org.au and you will then be kept updated and provided with information on how to apply. When will the Program commence? The Program has now officially commenced with the formalisation of the partnership of SSAA NSW and NPWS. It's anticipated that the first Information Day Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. will be held in December and the first SPC activity will be undertaken in February 2014. More information will be provided as it becomes available via the SSAA NSW website and we encourage anyone interested in taking part to register their interest. Why would SSAA NSW want to partner with the NSW Government on this project? SSAA NSW is committed to increasing hunting opportunities for our members, while at the same time we are dedicated to making a significant contribution to conservation efforts in NSW. Entering a partnership with NPWS will open up more than 700,000 acres to our members and utilise the skills and experience of our volunteer hunters to remove feral pests from the State's National Parks. We are also hopeful that this partnership will assist in changing and improving the perception of hunters in our community. Do you believe the Program has been designed to fail?
