Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. 4 St Marys Indoor Shooting Centre are giving local juniors aged between 12 and 17 the opportunity to learn more about the safe, fun & unique range of shooting sports available through the Junior Development Program. The Junior Development Program is focused on promoting fi rearm safety while making the sessions as fun and friendly as possible. Ali Newbery, Operations Manager at the St Marys Indoor Shooting Centre, says that the program is specifi cally designed for fi rst time shooters and will give them the knowledge and skills they need to enjoy the sport. "All activities are conducted by fully trained and licensed instructors who take the juniors through all aspects of fi rearm safety before introducing them to target shooting." "Shooting is an Olympic sport, and this is a great way to get more juniors involved." The Junior Development Program at St Marys Indoor Shooting Centre has been running for many years and has provided hundreds of juniors with the opportunity to gain fi rst-hand experience in the safe use of fi rearms. Past participant Kelsey Ryall encouraged other juniors to get involved. "It is the best sport I've ever tried. I made so many friends and now in our 20's we still get together and go shooting. For anyone who is considering trying the sport out, this is one of the best ways to get into it." The Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. Executive Director Diana Melham says that shooting is a great sport for juniors to get started in. "Anyone aged 12 and over can participate regardless of physical abilities, It is also a sport that can be enjoyed by families" said Ms. Melham. If you are interested, juniors must be aged between 12 to 17 and a parent or legal guardian must attend the induction day on Saturday 5 April which commences at 10am at St Marys Indoor Shooting Centre.
