Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. 4 GO FOR GOLD WITH SSAA SSAA introduces new Gold Membership option After months of meticulous negotiation and feedback from SSAA members around the country, SSAA are excited to unveil a Gold Membership option which covers your firearms and fixed firearm accessories for an additional annual fee of $25. This is the new exclusive offer available to all existing and new SSAA members as part of an expanded membership option for 2015. SSAA National President Geoff Jones discussed this exciting new initiative late last year, and was pleased to finally announce the details of this exclusive new insurance benefit. "As the SSAA grows, it is only fitting that so too does the number of benefits available to our members," he said. "We strive to ensure our member needs are met to the best of our ability, with this new membership benefit a direct result of your feedback and comments." The $25 annual fee covers $25,000 worth of insurance for any type of firearm, including antiques and collectables, and any fixed firearms accessories, such as scopes and slings, both in the home and while in use. It also covers the firearms and fixed firearms accessories for any theft or loss, and even when taken overseas for up to 28 days. The SSAA-owned and operated SSAA Insurance Brokers Pty Ltd (SSAIB) will deliver the insurance, with National Manager Trevor Jenkin excited to offer the value for money deal to members. "This exciting new member benefit gives you the opportunity to add an exclusive new level to your membership, which I know many of you wanted," he said. "Just by being a SSAA member, you are covered for your liability while engaged in recreational shooting, along with personal accident cover." Mr Jenkin says there's also the added benefit that SSAAIB takes no broker fees for arranging personal insurances and all the profits go back in to the Association. "Some of our members, and all of our clients, would have their firearms insured already under their home and contents insurance, but the additional benefits under the Gold Membership is that there is only a $100 excess, they are covered while in use, and you also have 28 days overseas cover," he said. Gold Membership has been available since 1 February. Those with the Family Discount Membership can also purchase the insurance for just $25 per person per year. Junior members are unable to apply, but will be covered when the firearm is in their use if the primary Family Member upgrades to a Gold Membership. To see if this policy is right for you, please view the full Product Disclosure Statement or Cover Schedule. Additional information is available on the SSAA Insurance Brokers website or by contacting the SSAAIB team on 1800 808 608. For inquiries about your existing membership, please phone the SSAA National Membership Office on 02 8805 3900.
