Anzac Military Rifl e Shoot at St Marys
Commemorating the 100 year anniversary of our Anzacs
On Wednesday 22 April St Marys Indoor Shooting
Centre held a Military Rifl e Shoot competition in honour
of our Anzacs.
It was a unique and challenging 50 metre shoot which
required all fi rearms to be as issued service rifl es with no
scopes or range sights and included a compulsory reload.
There was a good turnout for the event and despite
the happy demeanour of competitors, competition was
fi erce. All shooters were striving to win the fantastic
prizes on offer which were donated by SSAA NSW,
SSAA NSW Sydney Branch and St Marys Indoor
Shooting Centre.
The winners:
1st place – Marc Kuipers
2nd place – Mitch Newbery
3rd place – Frank Gasparini
The shoot was enjoyed by all, so much so there were
calls that the match be held for Remembrance Day
and Anzac Day in the future.
Many thanks to the scorers and Range Safety Offi cers
Michael Willis, John Griffi ths, Beau Griffi th and
Mitch Newbery.
