From Diana's Desk Let's all get the message out thereā€¦ It was very pleasing to see the article in the Daily Telegraph a few weeks ago that featured single action junior, Lilly-May Brown, who won the SSAA NSW Single Action State Titles in the Buckaroo category. We commend and congratulate the journalist on her positive and factual article. SSAA NSW takes every opportunity to positively promote the shooting sports and the association. However, the truth is positive articles such as this one are few and far between. We are often approached for statements on various matters relating to the shooting sports. Our approach is always to provide a response whether that be to grant the interview or provide a written reply. More often than not our comments are not published, or occasionally when they are, it is usually an excerpt that doesn't truly portray our viewpoint. It's an unfortunate reality that many media outlets are not going to give equal time to organisations such as SSAA NSW when instead they can get sensational grabs from ill- informed anti-firearm campaigners. Over the past couple of years SSAA NSW has developed a number of key messages that, at every opportunity, are incorporated into any publicity or interview that we do. These messages revolve around safety, education, responsible firearms ownership, regulation of our sport and our intolerance for those criminals who choose to break firearms laws. We also focus on the safe, fun and unique aspect of our sport. Our sport is one of the safest because everyone involved takes safety extremely seriously;
