6 Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. SSAA NSW Annual General Meeting Held on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 May This year's AGM welcomed a number of delegates from Branches that had not been represented at the AGM for many years. It was also good to welcome back some old faces; some who have been attending the SSAA NSW AGMs for many years. This year a record was achieved with Ken Peterson from West Wyalong Branch attending his 21st SSAA NSW AGM. A focus of the SSAA NSW AGM over the past couple of years has been to not only inform delegates on the going ons of SSAA NSW, but to update them on topical issues currently impacting on our sport to enable them to in turn, update their Committees and Branch members. We again had a number of guests attend the AGM and present to the delegates. Our guests from the NSW Firearms Registry, Inspector Matt Keogh, Tina Walker, Manager Licensing, Permits and Authorities and Range Inspector Dick Oakley all made presentations and it was good to see the delegates take the opportunity to ask questions. Dr Andrew Moriarty, Manager DPI Game Licensing Unit and Joe Amoroso, Coordinator Hunter Education and Training provided an update on the Hunter LEAP training and education program which is currently being implemented within the SSAA NSW Branch network. Trevor Jenkin, Manager of the SSAA Insurance Brokers provided information on the new SSAA Gold membership upgrade. Presentations were also provided by a number of SSAA NSW representatives on the work and achievements of the past year as well as the plans for the future, the SSAA NSW Range Development Fund, Disciplines, St Marys Indoor Shooting Centre and Tilterweira. Discussions were had regarding the need for increasing the number of volunteers within Branches, the ways that SSAA NSW can gain feedback and input from Branches and the concept for an electronic system to record member attendances. Elections were held for four vacant positions with Paul McNabb being re-elected as President for another three years. Craig Hopkins (West Wyalong) and Warren Brown (Griffi th) were both re-elected for three year terms as Board members and Ben Smith (Forbes) was elected as a Board member to fi ll the casual vacancy left by the resignation of Noela Robinson for one year. Guest speaker NSW Liberal Democrat Senator David Leyonhjelm
