Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. 3 President's Message Were you one of the over 15,000 people who visited the SSAA SHOT Expo at Rosehill Gardens? What an amazing show with the latest in firearms, accessories, reloading gear and shooting buggies, just about everything for sporting shooters. Also at the Expo safe shooting courses, R Licence testing and new memberships were at record levels. The SSAA Shot Expo was a world class exhibition and we can all be proud of the fact that the SSAA is the only shooting organisation in Australia big enough and professional enough to put it on. More affiliates are knocking on our door Lately we are seeing more and more hunting and target shooting clubs wanting to affiliate with us. It seems that shooters are taking a close look at what they get back from their organisations and see that SSAA NSW has all the right stuff and is doing the right thing by its Branches, Affiliate Clubs and members. The SSAA insurance is a real winner for our hunters and target shooters and outsiders see that our exclusive $25 Members Firearms Insurance offers unbeatable coverage. The National Parks & Wildlife Service Supplementary Pest Control Program is now a proven success and the SSAA Farmer Assist program is up and running in NSW as well. Other organisations also see we have big new ranges planned with land purchased outright in Armidale and Dubbo with smaller ranges on the drawing board in other rural areas. We are hearing that our generous grants and administrative help is a real bonus for small clubs and groups. We have also been asked to explore and make available new pistol and shotgun disciplines on ranges that are suitable. So it's easy to see why so many shooters and clubs are now taking a new look at SSAA NSW… it pays to belong. As President of SSAA NSW and Senior Vice President of SSAA National I want to make it clear we are not a predator Association wanting to take over smaller clubs. We welcome any shooter who is interested in joining the SSAA or any club wanting to affiliate with SSAA NSW and shares our aims and objectives. So if someone approaches you showing an interest in teaming up with the SSAA ask them to call our SSAA NSW Office on 02 8889 0400. SSAA Members Firearms Insurance... New Name, New Look Our research has shown that the name Gold Membership was confusing for the $25 Insurance offer. So I have been tasked with relaunching it and it will now be called SSAA Members Firearms Insurance. To promote it we will be telling real stories from members who have had a problem and how SSAA insurance helped them. As I went around meeting these members and photographing them I heard nothing but praise for the insurance coverage. I met members who had lost firearms through theft, others who had broken or damaged their firearms or accessories. Over the coming months I believe more members will grab this great members-only insurance…For only $25 per year you get $25,000 cover…at home, at the range, whilst hunting plus overseas for up to 28 days. I have included a few photos of members who have had a great result from their insurance cover. Well that's it for me, remember our door is always open to new members and clubs wanting to affiliate. Let's all work together building an even bigger and more powerful Association for our members - Your SSAA NSW is committed to protecting your freedoms and developing hunting and target shooting in NSW.
