Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. 9 and unique Australian and foreign weapons to be made available as a public museum. In 1994, the collection was made available on loan to the town and from this was born the Lithgow Small Arms Factory Museum Inc. In 1996 the entire collection was signed over to the museum and given that it's situated on the original factory site and houses its history, this museum truly contains one of Australia's best and most culturally significant collections that must be protected into the future. The museum has approximately 7,000 visitors per annum including dedicated researchers from around the world. It's open 5 days per week (7 days during school holidays) and continues to be manned and managed by a dedicated group of volunteers. I highly recommend it for every sporting shooter and look forward to hearing about your own visits to the Lithgow Small Arms Factory Museum in the future. Visitor Information If you're interested in visiting the Lithgow Small Arms Factory Museum, it's located at 69 Methven St, Lithgow NSW 2790. Its opening hours are Tuesdays – Thursdays 9:30am to 2pm and Weekends/Public Holidays 10am to 4pm while it's open 7 days during school holidays.
