Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. 13 Responsible wildlife management is all about protecting our environment and that includes the conservation of endangered wildlife, ecosystems, and biodiversity which SSAA NSW is committed to. It was great to receive plenty of positive feedback and support for what SSAA NSW is about to embark on, especially those made by Threatened Species Commissioner, Gregory Andrews. After last year's gala we reported that one of the offi cial ambassador devils of Devil Ark was named Sporty in honour of SSAA NSW. Sporty today resides at the Ark and is considered a very cheeky but photogenic devil that plays an important role in the education of visitors to the facility. We understand what the keepers were saying as Sporty continued to grace us with his presence all morning, showing off for the cameras. SSAA NSW's fi nancial support of, and on the ground involvement in the Devil Ark and Aussie Ark initiatives provides an excellent opportunity to highlight the important role recreational hunters play in conservation and provides a platform from which to build a better understanding and acceptance within the wider community.
