18 Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc.
SSAA NSW HuntFest was yet another outstanding
success for recreational hunters. Thousands turned out
across the June long weekend in near on picture perfect
conditions to enjoy the splendour, sights, sounds and
smells of the best of shooting, hunting and outdoor living
in Narooma on the NSW South Coast.
It truly is a family affair where we continue to see so
many familiar faces returning year after year. What
makes it even more memorable, and perhaps the most
exciting for us, is the fact that the rivalries of who is the
better shot on the SSAA NSW Mobile Air Rifl e Range
between family members and friends still lingers on.
None more so than Clint and Riley O'Connell, easily
our most competitive father and son duo who were left
both shocked and stunned after wondering whether we
would recognise them from previous years. Not only did
we recognise them, but we were on a fi rst name basis,
which is not bad when you only see each other once
every 12 months. Unfortunately, Clint, we think Riley has
you pegged as the better shot. Keep it up guys, and we
hope to see you again next year.
It was also encouraging to see that from those who had
shot for the fi rst time ever on the Mobile Air Rifl e Range
in previous years had further explored the shooting
