8 Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. 2018 Members Survey There was somewhat less interest in social media as a communications channel, with the SSAA NSW Facebook page seen as important by 32% (10% very important) and the Twitter feed by 14% (4% very important). SSAA NSW OPERATIONS AND ACTIVITIES Knowledge of SSAA NSW Members have a relatively good level of knowledge of SSAA NSW, but there is still room for improvement in building members' knowledge of operations and activities. Two out of every three members (67%) think they are either very familiar or familiar with the operations of SSAA NSW, with only 4% saying they really don't know anything. Detailed knowledge of SSAA NSW people is patchy. Members are most familiar with volunteers as the face of SSAA NSW (71% familiar), but they are less familiar with the staff and management (17%). Almost half the members say they really don't know anything about the SSAA NSW Board (44%) or about SSAA NSW staff and management (33%). Government-related activities SSAA NSW and The Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party are the two organisations most active at influencing government on firearms laws in NSW. When asked about the government-related activities of each organisation, two-thirds of members (67%) felt they were generally familiar with the activities of SSAA NSW and half (55%) were familiar with the activities of The Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party PERFORMANCE OF SSAA NSW Regardless of their level of knowledge about the detailed operations of SSAA NSW, a total of 89% rated its overall performance as adequate or better.
