Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. 11 SSAA NSW is pleased to announce that we have migrated towards a new SMS system to replace the physical print-post notifi cations alerting members of their compulsory attendances each reporting year. Many members may have already received one of these SMS notifi cations. The new SMS system will allow SSAA NSW to update members more regularly on their compulsory attendances. This is thanks to the rollout of the electronic attendance system, which enables us to extrapolate data in almost real-time. This data then produces notifi cations sent almost instantly from the SSAA NSW offi ce. Members should expect to receive updates at least two to three times per year, depending on whether you have met your attendance requirements. Previously, only one reminder letter was sent out at the beginning of the calendar year, leaving just a couple of months to fi t in your compulsory attendances before the reporting year closes on 31 st March. SSAA NSW will be sending the SMS attendance reminders to all members who have provided their mobile number. The fi rst of the SMS reminders will typically be sent in the middle of the attendance reporting year, between 1 st April – 31 st March. If a member has not yet completed all their compulsory attendances for either Target, Hunting or Collecting then they shall expect to receive an SMS reminder. This will indicate the total number of attendances they currently have recorded against their name in the SSAA NSW Attendance Database (please note, this is the total amount and not what is still outstanding). The SMS system will allow members to opt-out of future attendance messages by simply clicking on the opt-out link provided in the message. SSAA NSW will then revert to an email address. If there is no mobile number or email available for a member, we will post out the reminder letter. Members who don't provide a mobile number or email address will only get a reminder letter once a year at the end of January. If it is possible, or you are aware that you haven't yet provided a mobile number or email address with your membership, then we encourage you to please update your details with the National Membership Offi ce. You can do this by completing the Change Your Contact Details form at https://membership.ssaa.org.au/forms/change or by calling the offi ce on 02 8805 3900. This will help expedite services to you, like this Attendance Reminder SMS Service. SSAA NSW Attendance Reminder SMS Service Have something for the next edition?
