12 are pleased that this has resulted in many Members being assisted. Rest assured that your Association is in your corner, advocating for the best interests of all legal firearms owners. RANGE DEVELOPMENT On the range development front, SSAA NSW has been working hard across the state and is pleased to announce the development application for Dubbo range has now been approved. Initial earthworks will commence shortly, and we look forward to presenting a state-of-the-art facility. Separate to Dubbo, SSAA NSW has been working on projects both large and small (anywhere from minor upgrades to ranges to securing more ranges to shoot on and everything in between) across the state and we thank Branches for their involvement on this important task. MEMBERSHIP GROWTH Membership growth continues with an average 5-6% growth rate in recent times. As a result, SSAA NSW is scheduled to welcome its 60,000th member in the new year. A strong Membership base, most importantly, helps provide the various facilities around the state and promotes the sport and it also ensures our voice is heard on important matters. We are all in this together and again a big thank you to our Branches who provide the service at a local Branch and range level. It is encouraging to note that we are seeing more women, juniors and people with various abilities join our Association and sport. A big thank you to those of you who have introduced your family and friends to the sport over the last 12 months. Although, we have a record number of women participating in the sport there is always more room to grow and again we encourage you to introduce friends and family to the sport. ATTENDANCES As COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, we remind all Members to ensure that they have completed their shooting attendances by March 2022. Even though SSAA NSW secured an extension, time is nearly up and we will have to do at least one year's worth of attendances for the 2020/2021 period. WISHING YOU A SAFE AND HAPPY FESTIVE SEASON SSAA NSW has been working on many projects over the course of the past year and we look forward to new and exciting opportunities in the near future. On behalf of our President, Board and entire staff we wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a safe New Year. I personally will be spending time at the range and out in the wilderness to make up for the time lost during lockdown and I look forward to seeing you on my travels. Jai Rowell
