Tracey Faith Tracey Faith is passionate about many things in her life. Her family and friends. Country music. The Australian outdoors. And her shooting. Shortly due to release her self-titled album, the NSW Shooter recently caught up with Tracey to discuss her music and her love of the shooting sports. Born in Stoke-on-Trent, UK, Tracey moved to Australia as an infant and developed a love for the Australian outdoors when her parents, who were Salvation Army Chaplains, lived and travelled through outback Queensland. "I've spent time living on farms and spending time with friends in the country. I love the country and everything it represents. I love wide open spaces. I'm not a City person." For Tracey, country music represents an opportunity to write and sing the stories of her life. "This is me. If people want to know me, they can listen to the CD. This is real. There's a lot of pain … a lot of tears went into the album. But there's also a fun loving side where I can take the mickey out of myself." In fact the inside front cover of the album leaves no illusion as to the 'inspiration' for some of the songs on the album. It reads: Thanks to all the idiots that I went out with … you made the song writing process so much easier. You know who you are! Describing her music as "raw reality" Tracey says that she enjoys talking to people who have been able to identify with some of the songs on the album. "We recorded the song I've Paid My Dues with the Salvation Army Choir and many of the women came forward and asked me if I had really gone through some of the experiences I sang about. That was a highlight for me. It was the best night."
