Singer, song writer & shooter And the experience of listening to women who had battled addiction left a significant impression on Tracey. I'd love to be involved in an organisation that helps women who have been through some really hard times." Away from the recording studio, Tracey can often be found out at the Range. Having been introduced to guns while a teenager, Tracey has retained a love of the shooting sports and is a passionate advocate for the sport. And since then Tracey hasn't looked back. "Shooting has been a really great way to meet new people, and it opened up a whole new social network for me. In fact I met my best friend shooting out at Malabar." Tracey says that she was surprised by the level of support she received from family and friends. "My friends all make jokes about my shooting and motor bike riding but they would be more shocked if I turned up in a dress and high heels!" When the topic of conversation changed to the current state of gun laws in Australia Tracey displayed the same level of energy and emotion that is a staple of her music. "My first experience with guns was with my first serious boyfriend who would take me out hunting on his parent's property." Asked how she got back into target shooting Tracey said her interest was piqued driving past a gun store in the City. "I was looking for ways to meet new people, and I would often drive past a gun store and one day I just decided to go in. I told the guy at the counter that I really enjoyed shooting as a teenager and asked how I would go about getting involved in the sport." "Don't get me started! The people who are committing crimes aren't the people with the Firearms Licences. They are getting their illegal guns from the back of people's cars. Even if you took all the legal guns away, it wouldn't have any impact on the crime rate because those are not the people committing the crimes." Tracey also has a message for other women who may be thinking about getting involved. "I get a lot of respect from all the guys. And I LOVE showing them up!"
