Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. 8 The first annual SSAA NSW and St Marys Indoor Shooting Centre Volunteer Awards Dinner was held on 11 March at the St Marys Band Club. It was a chance for both SSAA NSW & the SMISC to acknowledge volunteers for their hard work and dedication in helping the Centre and the sport. SSAA NSW Executive Director Diana Melham says that it is important to recognize the valuable role played by volunteers in our sport. "SSAA NSW and St Marys Indoor Shooting Centre rely heavily on our volunteers, and we greatly appreciate the contribution they make." "Whether it's the Junior Development Program, Mobile Air Rifle Range, St Marys Pistol Club, Tilterweira Station or the Shotgun Trailer we wanted to take the time to acknowledge and thank these men and women." "Our sport is at an all time high in terms of popularity and our volunteers throughout the State play a large part in that success," said Ms Melham. SSAA NSW President Paul McNabb presented awards for "outstanding contribution by a volunteer" to: John Hansell Dionne Galea Graham Pulham John Griffith Mark Galea Danni Gapps Col Easton Alan Gozzard Gerald Watters George Kanakis Allan Harris Hovik Ohanessian Paul Stevens Greg Allen Wendy Broderick There was also the Honorable Roy Smith Volunteer of the Year award for 2013 presented to Julie Wilson. This award was to recognize an individual that has been heavily involved in the sport of shooting right across the board, including volunteering for the St Marys Pistol Club, the Mobile Air Rifle Range & the Junior Development Program. Julie is also a competitive shooter herself with a passion to promote the sport, as shown through the hours of her own time that she has dedicated to volunteer work. SSAA NSW and St Marys Indoor Shooting Centre Volunteer Awards 2014 Congratulations to all award winners and thank you to all of our volunteers.
