Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. 6 Meet The Team! We asked the Duval High School rifl e team some questions: Melanie 'Mel' Frost, 15 years old What made you start the sport? "Both my parents are keen target shooters and have been shooting since I was little. I thought once I turned 12 years old that I would have a go, and I haven't looked back. I love the sport it is so challenging!" Your journey so far… "This year I competed in the NSW State Hunter Championships in Light Rimfi re and placed third in the Juniors. And then I just competed in the SSAA National Benchrest Hunter Class Championships in Coffs Harbour where I picked up a third in the Junior Rimfi re 2-Gun. I am looking forward to the next few years, hoping that I can take my shooting through to another level. I would love to be able to one day compete for my country!" Will 'Willo' Shorter, 16 years old What inspires you? "My inspiration is when you go to comps, you can watch older people and watch what they do and try to learn a few things off them. And I try to beat my personal best each time I shoot." Your journey so far… "I have enjoyed working as a team, going away with the team to comps.
