Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. 3 From Diana's Desk SSAA NSW Discipline Chairmen's Meeting Each year SSAA NSW holds a Discipline Chairmen's meeting where the elected representatives for each discipline meet to review the activities of the past year, discuss and consider various matters affecting SSAA disciplines and put forward recommendations to the SSAA NSW Board. At this year's meeting the Chairmen discussed the various subsidies available to our representatives at State, National and International level, the establishment of a Junior Discipline and the opportunities for encouraging the disabled into our sport. During the year Discipline Chairmen are responsible for the coordination of events, including State Titles and National Championships as well as the promotion and expansion of their respective disciplines. These representatives are volunteers and give freely of their time – thank you for your efforts and valuable contribution to our sport. QSPCV Workshop – Supplementary Pest Control Program SSAA NSW hosted a workshop for Qualifi ed Supplementary Pest Control Volunteers (QSPCVs) on 21 February. It was an opportunity for QSPCVs to receive updates on the progress of the Supplementary Pest Control (SPC) Program after its fi rst year. It also gave both SSAA NSW and National Parks & Wildlife Service (NPWS) a chance to gather feedback from volunteers on the Program's various aspects. These included operations, qualifi cation and nominations. NPWS representatives provided presentations on the monitoring and outcomes of the Program to date. The sessions were very interactive and overall there was a very positive response to the day. We'll be looking at hosting further events for our QSPCVs. Details on times, venues and how to book a place will be sent to members who have registered their interest with SSAA NSW. SSAA members wanting to fi nd out more about the Program should visit the SSAA NSW website www.ssaansw.org.au and register their interest via the green "Register for SPC Program" button.
