Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. 5 2015 City Vs Country SSAA NSW Combined Services Discipline event held at Mudgee The 2015 City vs Country competition kicked off on Friday 13 March held by the SSAA NSW Mudgee Branch. There was an impressive turnout of shooters participating over the three days of competition at the Windamere Regional Shooting Complex. The annual competition held by SSAA NSW Combined Services Discipline featured a range of pistol and rifl e events utilising historic and modern military and service issue fi rearms. Friday featured pistol, training rifl e and cadet rifl e events. Cadet and Trainer are especially popular with junior shooters as the fi rearms used present much more manageable weight and recoil. Day two, Saturday, marked the peak of the weekend, with shooters engaged in the standard rifl e events; shooting both positional, rapid fi re and silhouette matches in a long and challenging day. In the evening all competitors and visitors congregated for a great dinner, enjoying the relaxation of the Mudgee countryside and demonstrated the sense of community, sociability and sportsmanship that defi nes the discipline and our sport. Sunday saw accurised & modifi ed rifl e, vintage sniper and tactical rifl e events round off a highly competitive weekend with shooters gathering to hear the weekend's placings and see which team of shooters, City or Country, collectively performed better. This year, the City shooters came out on top in the combined aggregate, with Simon Ross, John Lewis and Paul Wilkinson holding the lead aggregate for those representing City which secured their place on the CVC Memorial Shield. A big thanks to all shooters and visitors who came along this year and got involved. Congratulations to all those who participated and made the weekend a successful one. We look forward to seeing you at our other upcoming events this year, including our ANZAC weekend gathering and September State Titles.
