The next day's Heavy Rifl e competition saw NSW
shooters place outside the top and fi nishing from third
to sixth. Foate came in fi fth, however his aggregate
performances over the three events earned him fi rst place
in the 3-Gun Aggregate and the Max Coady Trophy.
In the 2-Gun aggregate scores, which includes the Light
and Heavy Rifl e events, NSW shooter Thomas Spang
won with a score of .2203 ahead of Foate who had to
settle for second place.
The prized 4-Gun competition is won by the most
consistent shooter across the four disciplines. This
year NSW shooter Murray Hicks was crowned 4-Gun
Aggregate Champion with a score of .3048 narrowly
beating Queenslander Roger Marshall on .3053.
In the team competition, the NSW team of Steve Sori,
Stuart Foate, Murray Hicks and Ean Parsons took out
fi rst place for the event with their steady and focused
performances at the Championships.
