6 Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. ANZAC Day 2015 Commemorating the 100th anniversary of our Anzacs… This year's Anzac Day on Saturday 25 April marked the 100th anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli which took place on 25 April 1915. SSAA NSW Executive Director, Diana Melham and Policy & Range Manager, Mitch Newbery were in Tenterfi eld over the Anzac weekend to provide training to the local Branch and a SPC Information Session. While there, they took the opportunity to participate in the local Anzac Day commemorations including attending the dawn service, Gun Fire breakfast at the RSL hall and watching the march through the main street of town. The 100 year anniversary was also commemorated at the St Marys Indoor Shooting Centre where an Anzac Military Rifl e Shoot was held on Wednesday 22 April. It was a unique and challenging 50 metre competition which required all fi rearms to be as issued service rifl es with no scopes or range sights and included a compulsory reload. There was a good turnout for the event and despite the happy demeanour of competitors, competition was fi erce. Marc Kuipers won fi rst place, followed by Mitch Newbery in second and Frank Gasparini in third.
