Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (NSW) Inc. 15 The program currently has in excess of 500 registered 'active' members online in NSW with more registering every day. At present the number of jobs that have been made available is quite low comparatively. What this means is that for each new job, farmers are being inundated with applications from members. As such, what we are finding is that farmers are quickly switching off the ability for members to apply so they can filter through the plethora of applications. To add perspective, one farmer received 75 applications in a matter of hours of posting their job. The good news is that through our representation at regional field days and the NSW Farmers conference recently, the system is showing encouraging signs of more farmers registering and more jobs coming online for members. The SSAA NSW office regularly receive emails and phone calls from members asking why they cannot apply for jobs or if they can have the farmers details to contact them directly. So, we are going to try and explain a few things about the program that members may not be aware of. What does it mean when the job status is Pending? There are 3 different status types: • Current – The job is open to applicants, • Pending – The farmer has switched off the application process and is reviewing all applications to make as informed decision on who they wish to invite to their property, and • Closed – The job quota has been met or assistance is no longer required. Can I have the Farmer's details so I can contact them directly to find out why my application was rejected? The short answer, NO. The farmer's personal information remains private and confidential until such time as they relinquish that information themselves to the candidate/s they invite to their property. I've paid my membership but the system is saying that my membership has expired, why? The Farmer Assist program is not linked to the membership office whatsoever. It is simply a facility developed for farmers and members to engage with one another. Ultimately, the management of your personal profile online remains with you, the member, to ensure your details are up-to-date so that your account remains 'active'. The Farmer Assist website now has a new look and feel with even more information than before, so jump online and check it out at www.farmerassist.com.au.
