7 NOVEMBER 2021 In recent times, we have successfully funded improvements to amenities and clubhouses, upgraded disability access to facilities, purchased sheds and water tanks, performed earthworks and renovations, extended shelters and viewing areas and built new kitchens for the following Branches: • Bathurst • Coffs Harbour • Condobolin • Forbes • Gilgandra • Glen Innes • Griffith • Gunnedah • Guyra • Kempsey • Northern Rivers • Port Macquarie • Snowy River • Urbenville / Woodenbong We also have been collaborating with Branches to explore new range opportunities and have been working hard towards completing projects like the Dubbo range development. This is a great result for our Association and our Branches, and I look forward to seeing these upgrades in person at future Branch visits. ADVOCACY As your peak shooting body, SSAA NSW regularly seeks opportunities to represent the interests of our Members. We are dedicated to protecting, promoting and preserving the shooting sports in NSW and are constantly advocating for all legal firearms owners across a broad spectrum of issues. We are in regular communication with our Branches, Affiliate Clubs and Members with regards to legislation and government submissions that would potentially affect the way legal firearms owners participate in their sport. SSAA NSW is at the forefront of firearms advocacy in NSW and we believe in an open and continuing conversation with our Members to ensure the best outcomes from our advocacy. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our Membership, Branches, Affiliate Clubs and the firearms industry as a whole for partnering with us over what has been the most successful and productive period of advocacy yet. In the past year, SSAA NSW has: • lodged a full submission on the Firearms and Weapons Legislation; • achieved the largest and most successful ePetition in NSW history with over 28,000 signatures; SSAA NSW is at the forefront of firearms advocacy in NSW.
